New Home Mood Board

Comfort and Character meets Natural Light and Warmth

Before I start any project, big or small, I make a mood board to organize my feelings and aspirations of the project at hand. So of course, when we purchased our first home earlier this year, the list of projects started adding up. We feel we have an opportunity to make this home feel our own. While I want to rush everything to enjoy our new home, I am constantly reminding myself that this is a process, and to enjoy it. So while we space projects out to adapt to our new home, I reflected and made a “core” mood board to use as we progress through the process.

I wanted to focus on ideas I am drawn to: Nature, Stories, Modern Design, Comfort, Moody, Casual, etc. So as I gathered images together I selected things that pulled at me internally. The sense of comfort and freedom are strong, along with the importance of quiet moments and special objects to tell your story.

We hope to create a space that reflects us and our lifestyle and that nourishes us, comforts us, and inspires us. Our home may not look like these images, but I hope it evokes that same positive feelings and energy I feel from them. During our process, some of these feelings may change, we may add to it or subtract, but as long as it is authentic, I hope we will have success in shaping our home.
